Wednesday October 15, 2014

Yesterday was particularly eventful.

I spilled half my lunch in both mine and Thomas' laps, then afterwards, the wind whipped my Tupperware out of my hand and it flew into the baptismal.

We saw two water snakes when we walked around the lake. This is the smaller of the two, the other one was disgustingly huge and I squealed and it ran away.

Then after lunch Leopold jumped. It was a false alarm since Eli wasn't actually born. Zach cleverly named this event Braxton-Kicks. We put him back on the whiteboard for a second shot at accurate predictions.

I got a hot Paris tea with steamed milk in the café. The first time I ordered it from Hilary a few days back she gave me an eye- and I said "Madison makes it for me that way!" And she cracked up. Now we call it Deluxe Paris Tea. It's especially rich and delicious for the cool weather.

Erin had a great idea inspired by my last post. We placed Leopold on the whiteboard to which he is known to cling rather tightly too. When Leopold jumps - Eli will be born within the hour prophesies predicts his mother. It's a rather exciting game of suspense that parallels the actual impending arrival of my favorite cousin.

I misspelled imminent and someone fixed it - that explains the kerning issue.

My prediction holds at Thursday October 16th at 5:00pm.
Erin predicts Sunday.

I hope I'm right.

Lately we have been playing alot with Erin's toy Leopold.

Brian and I tried to create a game where we put him on the whiteboard and make bets as to when he would jump off. However the issue is that Leopold holds very tight to whiteboards and windows. He actually sticks overnight. So the game is nullified.

Friday I decorated your Doerfmas tree with the mini-sweater-ornaments. It's adorbs.
Today we are wrapping up Christmas (ba-dum!) and its a pretty soft grey color outside.
This morning Thomas brought donuts and I was a good girl and didn't eat one.

In other news- I painted my living/dining room the loveliest shade of light gray. I've potentially got a roommate situation worked out, and my rug obsession has reached new heights.

Also - Urban is having 50% off sale items today so get shoppin' for your Sip-n-See outfit!!!!
;)

This blog has 47 pageviews. Maybe this is the start to my career as a blogger mommy!! Erin, can I borrow your newborn? I'll also need a nice camera and a marble tabletop to prop-style my morning cappuccino and fresh flowers on.

This morning I burned myself on the handle of my teacup. This is why.

I went to make a cup of tea and get a glass of OJ, and on the way to the kitchen complimented Tanya on her new hair color. Then I made my tea and when walking back - I heard her say "Have a nice day!" So I turned and with a smile replied "Thank you!" Only to see that she was on the phone and totally not talking to me.

So there I am holding a hot tea with one hand (the handle of this Anthro mug, as my target audience ((Erin)) knows is too small for your fingers so it was full and leaning on my bottom finger - see image!) and OJ with the other hand so I very well couldn't balance my hot tea better, and then I was just so giggly with embarassment I needed to tell this story to someone - but Zach and Brian were in a meeting so I just popped into Blakes office and relayed my 15 second tale. This was apparently 15 seconds too long to hold this hot teacup and now I have a little pink singe on my left middle finger.

And that is the tale of my burnt finger.

Lately Brian Zach and I have been talking about lunch very early in the day. Today we decided at 915 that we are going to get Greek food. so .. Opa!

Today Eli is as long as a leek. I can't wait to meet this little leek - hope he looks like me since we are both Doerflingers.

Here's a picture of a leek:

Today I did essentially the exact same thing as yesterday except I went to the café with Michelle and got a blended chai. I walked the big lap with Zach and Brian at lunch though and it was free day so I was allowed.

Nothing else of note today happened, but tonight I plan on picking up carnitas and fresh corn tortillas from Lupitas Carnerceria y Tortilleria on South Blvd.

Until tomorrow,

Conrad Reeve

Monday, October 6th 2014

Today marks the beginning of the first full week without my cousin coworker Erin.

Summary of Events:

At this mornings department meeting we played a new-old game : Noun-Phrase, Verb-Phrase, Illustrate. Which is not so cleverly named but is very fun. My phrase to draw was "Erin's baby Eli / electrifies the water" contributed by Zach and Seth respectively. Rob's interpretation of my drawing was "The new mother bathes her baby in radioactive water." Close enough I suppose. Image below.

Today I made more typography out of Christmas paraphernalia. Zach helped me rip apart artificial pine needles and I stared into the lightbox playing a micro version of pick-up-stix with the little guys. It turned out rad and my favorite part is the christmas sweater looking mini ornaments.

I didn't go to the cafe because all the cafe goers are no longer here. It's a sad thing. Maybe I'll try going on walk breaks or making pour overs. HA! Well, who knows. This morning I bought a coffee from Hilary's cart. This is the third coffee I've drank at work since Trust Training pt. 2. I think I'm becoming an addict.

I promise I'm a way better draw-er. I thought we had like 30 seconds. Sorry mom and dad and everyone. But look -Erin, I put your crossstiches and you're wearing the latest season of Hackwith.

Signing out,
